1. Visual Inspection
- Nameplate & Branding: Verify the integrity of the vehicle’s manufacturer nameplate and exterior paintwork.
- VIN Verification: Ensure the Chassis VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) matches the registration documents.
2. Hydraulic System
- Main Pump: Inspect the main hydraulic pump for leaks or abnormal noise during operation.
- Hydraulic Cylinders: Check for oil seepage, scoring on the rods, or irregular movement.
3. Electrical Control System
- Lighting: Test all signal lights, work lights, and beacons.
- Instrumentation: Verify that the chassis dashboard and superstructure computer (LMI/RCL) display accurate data and are free of fault codes.
- Control Cabinet: Ensure the wiring in the electrical cabinet is organized and free of loose connections.
- Safety Devices: Test the anemometer (wind speed sensor) for functionality and verify that all limit switches (e.g., anti-two-block) are operational.
4. Chassis & Powertrain
- Axles: Check drive axles and differentials for oil leaks.
- Braking System: Evaluate brake stroke/distance and ensure the service and parking brakes are fully functional.
- Tires: Inspect for cuts, bulges, or excessive tread wear.
- Engine & Transmission: Check the engine for fluid leaks or knocking sounds; verify smooth gear engagement in the transmission.
5. Slewing System
- Slewing Bearing: Inspect the swing bearing (turntable) for loose mounting bolts or signs of abnormal wear/play.
6. Hoisting & Boom System
- Boom Structure: Inspect the telescopic or lattice boom for any signs of deformation, structural cracks, or weld failure.
- Wire Rope: Check for broken wires, kinking, bird-caging, or strand displacement.
- Sheaves & Hooks: Inspect sheaves for groove wear or damage; check the load hook for throat opening stretch, twists, or excessive wear beyond permissible limits.
